Kerber fights back to win Stuttgart title

Monday, April 27 2015 by SNTV
  • Intro:

German left-hander Angelique Kerber held her nerve in an exciting deciding set to beat Caroline Wozniacki and win the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart.

    Script:

A dramatic entrance for a final that would have drastic swings in momentum... Caroline Wozniaki started like the woman that would go on to win the Stuttgart Grand Prix, this an example of her dominance as she took the opening set against Angelique Kerber 6-3.

But the German left-hander showed her intent to reply by winning to love in the first game of the second set.

She would go on to drop just one game as sent the match into a decider.

Wozniaki's level rose once again and she broke in eighth game meaning she just had to hold serve for the title....

She didn't and Kerber fought back to lead 6-5, Wozniaki saved three Championship points but not this one...

Kerber wins her second straight tour title but she said after this is the most special she's ever won.
