In a true "Like father, like son" moment, 16 year old Mick Schuhmacher - son of seven time Formula 1 winner Michael Schuhmacher - won his first ever Formula 4 race on Sunday.
He recorded a winning time of 30 minutes 59.920 seconds in the 18 laps of the Oschersleben track which runs between Hanover and Berlin.
Looking by no means a nervous beginner, Schuhmacher had already won the best rookie title on his Formula 4 debut, and he bagged a contract with the Dutch Van Amersfoort Racing team last month.
SOUNDBITE: (German) Mick Schumacher:
"All in all I am pretty satisfied about how the race went. We had three safety car phases and (I had) pretty good restarts. So all in all, I'm quite happy about the race."
SOUNDBITE: (German) Mick Schumacher:
"It's incredible, and it is an honour for me. I'm extremely delighted, and delighted also for the team that we were able to secure such a good result - 1st and 2nd, which is an outstanding starting point for the season."
And although papa Michael is still recovering from his tragic head injury suffered in 2013, grandpa Rolf was there to watch young Mick claim victory in only his 3rd race in an emotional day for racing fans and the Schuhmacher family alike.
