David Beckham Does Another Act Of Kindness That Warms The Cockles

Golden Balls is a good lad, isn't he!

When he's not busy being thoroughly pleasant, an ambassador for sport in general in the UK and scoring wondergoals against Neil Sullivan, he's helping ladies who have fallen over.

There he was, cruising along in Kensington a couple of days ago, when he noticed that a woman of considerable age had fallen over.

Did he do what most celebs would have done? Did he drive along, perhaps running over a couple of her toes on his way?

No, course he didn't, he stopped and helped her.

A spokesperson for London Fire Brigade said: "At around 16.45, a fire engine was flagged down to an elderly woman who had tripped when crossing the road and fell and hit her head.

"David Beckham was parked nearby and had already given her a bottle of water. He assisted and when the ambulance arrived was thanked and told he could move on."

Nice lad.

Another act of kindness

Last year he bought hot drinks for a paramedic and patient as the worker was helping an old gentleman after falling. This led to London Ambulance tweeting: "Thank you David Beckham for buying a tea and coffee for Catherine and her patient #buyitlikebeckham."

Catherine said: "We were both very amused and flattered... All of a sudden, I looked up and saw someone who looked like David Beckham walking past us. He said hello and got in his car. I said to the man I was treating, 'I think that was David Beckham'. 10 minutes later, he came back with a cup of coffee for me and a tea for the patient. It was awful cycling around in the cold today and I couldn't believe it when he came back with some hot drinks - I was so chuffed."

David Beckham's charity work

As reported by the Mirror, among others, David and his wife, Victoria, do a lot of good.

They run their own charity, called the Victoria and David Beckham Charitable Trust. This mainly focuses on children, providing wheelchairs to those who need it. This has also led to him focusing on helping children as a Unicef ambassador.

His 11-year-old son, Cruz, also appears to want to help doing charity work, releasing a Chistmas single called 'If Every Day Was Christmas'. David said: "For us, we always want in our children, we always hope they're listening to us or pay attention to us as parents, so we do a lot of work for charity [such as] obviously Unicef and my wife does [charity work] for the UN. And Cruz came to us and said 'How about I do a Christmas song for charity? And all the proceeds go to charity."

With the trust they run, the Beckhams also help other charities and voluntary organisations as well as helping adults in need and making grants to certain organisations.

Back to Unicef, and David has been working as a Goodwill Ambassador for them for 12 years, with a special focus on sport for development.

At the back-end of last year, he also worked with the charity to release a film to try and highlight and end violence against children. The hashtag for this is #ENDviolence if you wish to find out more.
