Henrikh Mkhitaryan hails Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Manchester United midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan has described Sweden striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic as an 'amazing player'.

Both Mkhitaryan and Ibrahimovic joined the ranks at Old Trafford earlier this summer, but the latter is yet to make his debut for the club.

In fact, Ibrahimovic, 34, has just touched down in Manchester and is set to join his new teammates for pre-season training imminently.

Mkhitaryan, meanwhile, featured at the DW Stadium during United's first pre-season outing against Wigan, while he found the back of the net against Borussia Dortmund during the club's tour of China.

And it's fair to say that the versatile midfielder is excited by the prospect of lining up alongside Ibrahimovic.

MKHITARYAN SPEAKS OUT

"He's an amazing player, the name says everything," he said, as per the Telegraph. "I think it will be easy to play with him because he is a high-quality player. He won't make only my life easier but the team's life."

The Armenia international has insisted that he will do all he can to reach the next level but can't promise anything at this stage.

The midfielder has also admitted that United's former player, Shinji Kagawa, told him good things about the club.

"I never promise something, I always say that I will try," Mkhitaryan said. "Because if you promise something and you don't do it you will always be under pressure. I want to do everything to get to a new level.

"Every time Shinji talked about Manchester he told me something good so it gives a good impression. You have to try and do everything to show your best qualities otherwise you will not be here anymore."

ZLATAN DEBUT

United fans, then, will be hoping to see Mkhitaryan and Ibrahimovic join forces for the club's fixture against Turkish outfit Galatasaray on Saturday.

In fact, with the two sides set to meet in Sweden, there's every chance that United fans will get to see Ibrahimovic in action.

The arrival of the enigmatic striker doesn't necessarily guarantee success for the Red Devils, but their fans should be confident that the club can once again make an impact on the Premier League title race.
