Peterhead vs Ayr Utd. - McAllister banned as Peterhead face Ayr in promotion play-off

Peterhead will be without the suspended Rory McAllister for their Scottish Championship play-off semi-final first leg at home to Ayr.

The Blue Toon, who have lost their last five matches and finished two points below Ayr in the League One table, are also missing injured duo Ally Gilchrist (groin) and Jamie Stevenson (hamstring) while Scott Ross is a major doubt.

Manager Jim McInally said: "We have been on a disappointing run however we looked a lot more like ourselves at Dunfermline on Saturday. We lost 1-0 but played well and we will take confidence from that into this game.

"We are the underdogs but our players usually respond well to big games and hopefully they will do the same against a good Ayr side."

Ayr have Peter Murphy available after suspension with only Jamie Adams (knee) unavailable to manager Ian McCall.

The Somerset Park boss said: "We lost 3-0 to Airdrie at the weekend but we were trying some things out in that game - some came off and some didn't. We won our two games before that 4-0 so confidence has not been affected.

"Peterhead are a good side who have players capable of stepping into Rory McAllister's shoes so we face a tough evening.

"It will be close and I fully expect this tie to be on a knife-edge heading into the second leg at the weekend."
