WHILE Jurgen Klopp was busy taking his first training session, Liverpool FC were busy stocking up in order to cash in on the ‘Kloppmania’ that is sweeping Merseyside and the wider Reds fanbase.

Klopp took to Melwood for the first time on Monday and ran his first session with players not involved with their national teams.

Alongside the 48-year-old was his trusted analyst and scout Peter Krawietz and first team coach Pep Lijnders, while assistant manager Zeljko Buvac will join up with the former Borussia Dortmund boss later.

Sky Sports report that nine first team players — Daniel Sturridge, Dejan Lovren, Philippe Coutinho, Mamadou Sakho, Lucas Leiva and Kolo Toure — took part in the approximately 60-minute session, while James Milner was present but not involved after returning early from England camp.

Jurgen Klopp was unveiled as the new manager of Liverpool FC on Friday.

Klopp has also ruled out any attempts to lure some of Dortmund’s big names to Anfield, telling German newspaper Bild: “I have no intention whatsoever to lure Dortmund’s stars to Liverpool.

'I am not interested in how much money I will be allowed to spend in January.

'It is only October and I don’t even know how many games there are left until the winter. But we clearly have plenty of games left and we will be taking a look at our own players first.”

But while Klopp is said to have spent hours trawling over match footage of Liverpool this season, the marketing and merchandising departments were busy concocting the ‘Klopp Collection’ for the official club store.

Klopp mugs cost £8, or £10 for a jumbo mug.

The collection includes t-shirts, mugs, pennants and mousemats as well as a cheeky reference to Klopp’s “Normal One” introduction to the British press.

Everyone in love with the charismatic German can get their hands on one of two shirts — one depicting a cartoon of the new Liverpool manager and another with a graphic of his famous glasses/hat combo.

One of these shirts will set you back £15.

No doubt fans will be kitted out in Klopp memorabilia when Liverpool travel to take on Tottenham on Saturday at 10.35pm on Fox Sports 505. You can watch that game via our EPL on Demand service.
