Arsenal are ready to test Bayern Munich’s resolve by offering £35m for Robert Lewandowski, as per the Daily Express.
The Gunners have identified the 26-year-old Poland international as an alternative option to top target Karim Benzema, with the Frenchman now looking likely to stay with Real Madrid next season.
Lewandowski only moved to Bayern Munich last summer on a free transfer from rival Borussia Dortmund and he enjoyed a successful debut campaign with the club, scoring 17 Bundesliga goals as they retained the title.
With Chuba Akpom expected to go out on loan and Karim Benzema’s move looking more unlikely as time passes, it seems Arsenal are pressing on with their attempts to sign the Lewandowski.

However, despite proving to be an excellent addition for the Bavarian giants over the last 12 months, rumours regarding a potential exit for the talented frontman have refused to die down, with Manchester United also linked with a move for him, via Metro.
