Evian vs Paris St Germain preview - Blanc interested in Di Maria

Paris St Germain boss Laurent Blanc has confirmed that he is interested in a move for Real Madrid winger Angel Di Maria but said it will be "difficult" to pull off.

Ahead of his side's trip to Evian, Blanc was asked during a press conference about the possibility of the Argentinian swapping one European capital for another.

The 48-year-old admitted he would like to sign the former Benfica flier, who has also been linked to Manchester United and Arsenal, but pointed out there are significant hurdles in the way of any potential move.

"With large players like Di Maria, there are a lot of clubs behind him certainly," Blanc told L'Equipe.

"PSG can not do what he wants in terms of recruitment (because of financial fair play). This is a difficult issue, the president has confirmed to me."

Blanc also confirmed that Zlatan Ibrahimovic would not be ready to feature at the Parc des Sports, but does not expect the Sweden international to be out for long.

Ibrahimovic, who scored 41 goals in all competitions last year, was forced off with an obliques injury during the early stages of the 2-0 win over Bastia last week, although goals from Lucas Moura and Edinson Cavani helped them to claim their first victory of the season.

Blanc told reporters that both Ibrahimovic and Dutch defender Gregory van der Wiel, who is also out of the trip to Evian with a back injury, should avoid a prolonged spell on the sidelines.

Despite the loss of the 32-year-old Swede, reigning champions PSG should still more than fancy their chances given rock-bottom Evian have shipped nine goals in two matches in a dismal start to the season.

Pascal Dupraz's side lost their season opener 3-0 to Caen at the Parc des Sports, before going down 6-2 away at Rennes and the 51-year-old knows they face a tough task to turn things around this weekend.

"It is never good to play PSG. However, it's good for our fans because the stadium will be full and it creates the event," Dupraz told etgfc.com.

"Everyone thinks that PSG will win, I would certainly think so too!"
